Every answer leaves a receipt.
You can hand it on. You can find it later. It does not make the answer true.
Beta. Receipts are real records of what ran — provider, model, timing, content hashes. Some fields aren't captured yet: token counts are always empty, and timing is total, not time-to-first-token. The format will change.
What it is
Not a screenshot. A record of what the server observed — provider, model, time, hashes. It sits next to the answer. Both are yours.
When you need it
- You quoted a figure and someone asks where it came from.
- You switched engines mid-chat and need to know which one said it.
- You want the same question again, under the same rules.
Chat scroll is not a record. The receipt is.
What it is not
The receipt proves what ran. It does not prove that what ran was right. Only checking the claim against the world protects the claim. Signature ≠ truth.
How you use it
- Open it on the message.
- Copy JSON.
- Look it up by ID.
- Save it with the document that used the answer.
The record lives with your files
In V3, receipts write to your drive, your cloud, or a local folder. Same structure. Leave whenever — they go with you. Sync is convenience, not custody.
